Stress at work, eating junk food, physical inactivity will make you unfit and even make things worse! But losing weight is not always about strict diets and exhausting workouts.

Haha! I hope you have laughed and burn 20 calories now! Wait,what am I reading here? Yeah, This isn’t a joke!  Data gathered by a team of researchers at the department of medicine in Vanderbult University told that 10-15 minutes of laughter a day can burn 20-40 calories.

As laughing involves more muscles of your body, especially your abdominal muscles, relax and start watching comedy shows in Netflix. No wonder, our ancestors has told laughter is the best medicine!

3. Forget About Daytime Sleep!


Scientist prove that people burn less fat when they sleep during the daytime and are active at night. A group of researchers from the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus studied about 14 healthy people for 6 days.

For the first two days, participants slept during the night without taking day time naps.

For the last 4 days, then they changed their sleeping patterns. Results concluded that when people took a nap, their metabolism worsened since their biological clocks didn’t completely adapt to the schedules.

Research studies also mentions that not getting sufficient sleep during night also leads to weight gain. So, make sure you sleep atleast 6-8 hours a day and not more than that!

4. Add Fiber To Your Diet

Fibre found in foods like wheat, oats, panang kilangu (palm Tuber) , beans and nuts boosts your metabolism. The fibre enters your body and prevents your body from absorbing excess fat. Foods high in fibre also take time to chew and you’ll feel fuller for a longer time.

5. Don’t Skip Meals

There is a misconception that if you eat fewer calories your body will jumpstart the metabolism as soon as it senses food in your stomach.

Well, it’s actually the opposite. When you don’t eat enough, your body slows down its functions to save energy and it will start feeding on muscles and will store more fat since your body considers fat as an insulator to protect your organs.

6. Eating A Low Carb Diet

A low carbohydrate diet is based on the idea that decreasing carbohydrates lowers insulin levels, which causes the body to burn stored fat for energy and result in weight loss.

A low carbohydrate diet focuses on proteins including meat, poultry, fish, eggs and some non starchy vegetatables. This low carbohydrate diet excludes grains, legumes, breads, sweets, pasta and starchy vegetables.

7.  Why Is Drinking Water So Much Important?

Yeah, you have probably heard this for the nth time! But are you drinking enough water in a day? Many of you drink water when you are getting thirsty right!

I have recently come across the Japanese water therapy and felt impressed. This is a proven method for treating body disorders, menstrual disorders and eye related ailments.

  • Drink approximately 160 ml of water daily immediately after waking up, before brushing your teeth on an empty stomach.
  • Don’t eat anything for the next 45 minutes.
  • Drink water at least 30 minutes before eating and not during the following 2 hours of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • If you cannot drink four glasses of water on empty stomach, begin with one glass as much as your body supports. You can gradually increase the intake of water till you reach the desired levels of 640 ml.

This method will remove all toxins and improve your digestive system. You will feel less hungry and your cravings will be reduced. This will prevent weight gain by overeating.

Remember the trick is not to skip meals, eat enough calories everyday and a diet full of fiber, proteins and  low carbohydrates. Get good sleep and drink enough water!
