As the whole world is locked down, everybody is getting used to the long stay at home all because of the frightening covid 19 pandemic which makes the presidents and kings’ blood ran cold.
The pandemic was so intense that everybody came to the thought of it was none other than the karma of mother nature and animals. As everybody would know from their heart, humans are the only one who is responsible for causing changes in the environment that hurt animal and plant species. Humans take up more space on Earth. We grew so selfish to hunt and kill animals for food, clothings, bags and even shoes. We destroy the habitats that plants and animals need to live and started constructing houses and buildings.
Do you know that human populations are growing so fast, animals and plants are disappearing 1000 times faster than they have in the past 65 million years. Everytime, you read the news and watch the television, bad behaviour that causes harm is on display. We know that we have good environmental reasons to progress ourselves and kill innocent beings. If nothing is done, 11 of the world’s most ecological important forest landscapes including forest homes for orangutans, tigers and elephants will account for over 80 percent of forest loss globally by 2030.
As of April 15, 2020, more than 1.98 million cases of covid-19, have been reported in 210 countries and territories, resulting in more than 126,000 deaths.
The government of India under the prime minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days (still extended) limiting moment of the entire 1.3 billion population of India as a preventive measure against the 2020 coronovirus pandemic in India.
From finding peacocks and bulls ruling the roads to breathing fresh air, we are all noticing birds chirping louder. We are all realising how the current lockdown is good for our environment and learning how to satisfy our lives with what we have since all the food delivery services have banned, mall have been shut-down, online shopping is banned, transportation and tourism is stopped. Humans are learning to live their lives simply and mother nature is extremely pleased and started to reboot herself since she have weeping for millions of decades.
1. Pollution Levels Are Dropped
Data from NASA and European space agency pollution monitoring satellites showed a sustained decrease in nitrogen dioxide over China since the beginning of this year. “According to NASA, this is at least partly related to economic slowdown that has ensued from the outbreak of coronavirus.
This is the first time I have seen such a dramatic drop off over such a wide area for a specific event. “Told Fei Liu,an air quality researcher at NASA’s Goddard space flight center. The same effects has now also been seen in Italy, also a worst hit country next to China. The lockdown has led to the decrease of NO2.
2. Oceans Are Probably Quieter
Michelle Fournet, a marine ecologist at Cornell who studies acoustic environments is hoping to position underwater microphones off the coast of Alaska and Florida, where she have studied humpback whales and other marine lives to investigate how the waters and lives of marine species have changed due to the absence of noise from cruise ships. “Just pulling out the cruise ships will reduce the global ocean noise almost instantaneously’ he told.
Many researchers have told that ambient noise from ships and maritime traffic can increase stress level hormones in Marine creatures which can affect the reproduction. He is thinking now of North Pacific humpback whales who have begun to move northward this month and will be soon swimming with thier newborn calves in Southeast Alaska.
3. Venice Canals Are More Clear And Welcomed With Dolphins And Swans
The water flowing through the canal of Venice is clear for the first time in forever due to the decrease in boat activity. Swans and dolphins are returning to the deserted Venice canals. “The water looks more clearer because there is less boat traffic in the canals, allowing the sediment to stay at the bottom ” a spokesperson for the Venice mayoral office told CNN.
4. Ozone Is Healing
The sudden drop in pollution levels across the globe has led to positive effect on the ozone layer. With less vehicles on the roads and people being vigilant about their activities, the ozone layer has got some breathing space now.
5.What About The Indian Economy?
India is not only fighting with corona pandemic but also the economic pandemic. Since all the millions of hotels, building construction, companies , malls, shops have been closed all the workers working for daily wages are heading towards their native villages with no money.
