Start with making a food chart and selecting the right types of food that will keep you going till dusk.

Foods to Avoid Eating in the Morning:

There are many foods to avoid eating in the morning. You should strictly avoid food items that are unhealthy, or that are not fit to be eaten with an empty stomach. We have made a list of these items to make your work easier!

  1. White Bread

A bread toast is one of the most hassle-free options for breakfast, but it might not be the best for your health. White bread contains refined flour, and it has almost no nutritional value. Rather, it can make you obese. Sandwiches made with white bread are equally unhealthy.

Tip: Multigrain or brown bread is a much better option. Have it with a poached egg to add that punch of energy for your day.

  1. Store-bought Juices and Smoothies

Most store-bought juices and drinks have a high sugar content that surely won’t make your mornings or health “good”. These also contain whole milk, cream, and many low-quality, high-fat content products. Even the fruits are just added flavors.

Tip: You can rather make your smoothie yourself with loads of fruits and greek yogurt. It’s filling and it’s healthy: perfect to start your day!

  1. Pancakes and Waffles

If pancakes and waffles are your go-to food every morning, it can take its toll on your health. They might have some protein, but the refined flour content doesn’t help either. And choosing a syrup or jam to go with it adds extra sugar as well. If you eat them regularly, then, in the long run, these will trigger chronic diseases and obesity.

Tip: Pancakes or waffles for your weekend comfort breakfast is quite harmless.

  1. Breakfast Cereals

Now, this might be a shocker. What about all those advertisements stating breakfast cereals as the healthiest meal? Well, they all lied. Most breakfast cereals are loaded with highly processed ingredients like sugar and color. Some researchers have found that these breakfast cereals have more calories than cookies. Cereals contain no potential nutrients, and can in fact trigger diabetes, obesity, and heart diseases.

Tip: Just cut it out of your diet. Have plain old instead, not the flavored ones.

  1. Muffins

Muffins might seem light and healthy for your breakfast menu. However, they are almost the same as cakes, made with similar ingredients like refined oil, flour, and eggs. Some also come with powdered sugar and chocolate chips, which add to the unhealthy calorie count.

Tip: You can try muffins made of whole flour, but it is still not fit to be your breakfast staple.

  1. Flavored Yogurt

Many brands nowadays are promoting flavored yogurts enriched with nutrients and that will help in weight loss.

But here is the problem: these flavored yogurts contain added colors, flavors, and sugar.

Tip: Good old Greek Yogurt is good enough for your morning dose of energy and also maintaining your weight.

  1. Granola Bars

Energy bars made of granola and oats have been quite the trend. All our local supermarkets attract customers with words like “healthy” and “weight loss” tagged with these bars. But is this really a “healthy” start to your day?

Absolutely not. Most of these bars are equal to regular chocolate bars in terms of sugar content and preservatives. Apart from some fibers and carbs, these breakfast bars do not have much to boast of. It has those extra calories that you definitely do not need to start your day with.

Tip: Have plain whole granola and oats with milk and a hint of honey is your best way to better health.

  1. Coffee

Sorry for the shocker, caffeine addicts! But having coffee on an empty stomach is rather harmful to your health. It can cause indigestion, and that might not be the best for your health.

Tip: Have coffee only with a heavy breakfast, and you are sorted!

  1. Scones

Most of your store-bought scones are topped with cream or powdered sugar. If you are on your weight loss journey, this one isn’t the best breakfast staple. It has just a few fibers and loads of refined flour won’t help in your fitness.

Tip: Whole grain bread is a much better option.

  1.  High-Calorie Baked Products

Thinking of pastries, doughnuts, and croissants? You should surely bunk these. They have high calories and any kind of nutrients. Yes, they are great comfort foods, but not the best for your health. They are some unhealthy fats you should strictly avoid.

Tip: Have a high-protein breakfast of whole-grain bread, eggs, and milk.
